Cryolipolysis
During cryolipolysis, the tissue is subjected to a temperature of -9°C for 40-60 minutes. This causes crystallization and apoptosis (programmed cell death) of fat cells. The latter, being particularly sensitive to cold compared to other surrounding anatomical structures such as skin, dermis, vessels, nerves and muscles, are selectively eliminated without damaging the surrounding tissues.
How are fat cells eliminated?
The elimination of fat cells occurs through the lymphatic system, which conveys them to the liver. Here, similarly to dietary lipids, they are metabolised and physiologically expelled, resulting in a reduction in volume in the affected area.
Is it a painful treatment?
The treatment, which is comfortable in nature, involves the use of handpieces on the areas affected by adiposity for a specific period. These handpieces, through the generation of low temperatures, exert traction on the tissue, inducing freezing of the subcutaneous substrate and promoting apoptosis of the adipocytes.
How long does it take to get results?
The response to the treatment follows a precise temporal sequence: within the first 48 hours after the session, a modest inflammation of the subcutaneous tissue is observed, without edema. From around the fifteenth day, macrophages begin to phagocytose adipocytes, directing them to the lymphatic system. The first results are evident after about a month, but the definitive result appears at the end of 90 days, with the complete elimination of lipids. Scientific studies attest to a reduction in fat cells between 22% and 40%, with a reduction of fat of 4.5 cm.
How many sessions are necessary?
Depending on the initial condition and the desired goal, a single session may be sufficient or additional sessions may be necessary. For previously treated areas, a subsequent session can be scheduled no earlier than 60 days, after evaluating the outcomes of the initial session.
When can it be done?
Cryolipolysis is a treatment that can be performed in any season, including summer, and is applied to all areas of fat accumulation, as long as they are applicable. As it does not require a recovery period, there is no interruption of daily activities, which can be restored immediately post-treatment.
How long do the results last?
The result, if supported by a correct diet and a healthy lifestyle, is permanent. The treatment, being simple and practical, does not require recovery phases.
Are there possible side effects?
There are no specific contraindications and the side effects, usually a slight erythema and tingling in the treated area, are minimal and transient. The treatment, without the need for recovery, guarantees reliable results.
